While we strive for our data collection to be as complete as possible, there are a few instances where we would not be able to capture all tweets for a given tag, such as:
- Our data will not include tweets from accounts marked as private (those with the little lock symbol next to the Twitter name) or from public accounts that Twitter does not index (such as from accounts that Twitter feels are spam).
- It's possible that your hashtag has not been used much and there are few tweets associated with your hashtag.
- Spelling counts! Be sure you've spelled your hashtag correctly.
- It's unlikely, but we may also be missing some data from Twitter due to a downtime or other errors on their part, or downtime here at Hashtracking. If we're aware of an outage on the Twitter side or at Hashtracking, we'll do our best to notify you on your Hashtags page.
