Hashtracking was designed to be used primarily for hashtags you wish to track and collect data on in the future. However, we know that there are times when you might wish to collect full, detailed data and analytics on hashtag use after-the-fact.
Hashtracking’s Historic Data collection system allows you to search back up to 30 days, and retrieve all hashtagged tweets, as if you’d been following the tag in real-time.
The Historic Data Collection system lets you use account credits (1 credit = 1000 tweets) to collect tweets from the past. All Hashtracking subscribers have a set number of “free” Historic Data Collection credits automatically associated with their account. Additional credits can be purchased at any time and will be stored for use when you need them.
When you use the Historic Data Collection feature you will be shown the total number of tweets that have occurred in the last 30 days. You can control the number of tweets you wish to collect by choosing how far back in time you wish to go.
Hashtags tracked via Historic Data Collection will appear on your my Hashtags page alongside your other hashtags, as if you had tracked in real-time. You will be able to access all the usual reporting, sharing and Hashtracks options.
To get a basic snapshot of recent activity for a hashtag (past 1-7 days), use our Hashtag Explorer service, available on our website.
