Social Media Day 6/30, 2010
Brought to us by the good people of Mashable, Social Media Day 2010 is a day “acknowledging and celebrating the revolution of media becoming social”. The #SMDay hashtag is a great example of what we call a “Special Interest Group” conversation: lots and lots (and lots!) of tweets; but not a lot of conversations or retweets; reach/impressions ratio is high, reflecting lower individual engagement, but a wide audience. Mostly this tag reflects a transient confluence of interests by a broad spectrum of people around the world.
Evo Conference ’10

Even before the conference started, the hashtag enjoyed several million unique impressions and a very impressive High Impact ratio.
JournChat

A great example of an ongoing Twitter conversation — make sure to include a Tuesday in your timeline, since the weekly chat occurs every Tuesday evening (PDT).
