The results of our Colortracking Contest are in and we are overwhelmed with the colorful response! Hundreds of colorful images tagging Hashtracking were shared. We are thrilled to announce our winners and to share some of their beautiful entries, but given that data is our game, we thought we’d share a few interesting stats first.
The colors most shared, liked and engaged with:
Green was the color most shared by contest entrants, by quite a large margin. Perhaps it’s the season, there’s so much green around during the summer and no lack of subject matter to shoot. Green was closely followed by blue and both of these colors generated the most likes, comments and impressions - not surprising when they also generated the most photos.
More interesting was the fact that white, yellow and orange images generated the highest engagement (likes and comments per impressions). This reflects the trend that we often see - color disruption is an effective engagement strategy. Simply put, using a color or color that stands out from the “stream” or what is expected, tends to get more reaction from viewers.

ORANGE

YELLOW

BLUE

PURPLE
We love these gorgeous lavender flowers captured by @TravelBlonde to win the #purple color category.
PINK
This gorgeous #pink rose by @AlainaFrederick won the category, and our hearts. Lovely summer bloom!
