Starbucks in complying with FDA and state laws has banned jewelry with stones worn by its baristas. So the intent is not to ban engagement rings, but all jewelry with stones - watches, bracelets, rings. This lead to a spike recently in the #BoycottStarbucks hashtag.
Starbucks has been at the center of controversy over the past few weeks and we see frequent spikes in the hashtags with breaking news.

So who’s giving up their Peppermint Mochas? Our guess is not many, but it will be interesting to see if this picks up momentum through the season.
